Christina Ng is a writer, translator, and educator working between English and Chinese. She has interpreted for film and theatre productions, and her writing and translations—spanning essays, features, poetry, and fiction—focus on art, travel, identity, and culture.

Her Chinese-to-English literary translations include works by Singaporean poets Liang Wern Fook and Dan Ying. The Joy of a Left Hand (Balestier Press, 2023), her translation of Liang’s short story collection, was shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize 2024. Her translation of Dan Ying: Selected Poetry 1966–1995, (Poetry Translation Centre, forthcoming in 2026) received an English PEN Translates Award.

Christina’s work has appeared in adda, Pathlight, Words Without Borders, and Contour: A Lyric Cartography of Singapore. She teaches literary translation and leads workshops in both translation and creative writing. Originally from Singapore, she is now based in Berlin.

in both English and Chinese. I have a background in journalism—specializing in the arts, culture, and travel. With experience as a staff reporter, multimedia journalist and TV/radio presenter, my work has appeared in Hyperallergic, AFAR, South China Morning Post, Zbbz, and more. I was the columnist for Lianhe Zaobao's 吃在德国 (Germany on a Plate) -- a column series on food and flavours in Germany. I've received a creative writing in fiction mentorship from the novelist Meira Chand under the Singapore National Arts Council Mentor Access Programme, and my creative nonfiction work has appeared in publications including AAWW and Willowherb Review. I sometimes provide voiceover work for commercials and media content in Mandarin Chinese.

I am an adjunct lecturer in the Master of Arts in Translation and Interpretation Programme at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore), where I also supervise students in the programme. I have designed and delivered courses and workshops in creative writing, literary translation, and foundation English—both in person and online—for a variety of schools, universities, and institutions in Berlin, Singapore, the UK, and the US, including the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (Berlin), Berlin Bilingual School, and the Poetry Translation Centre. I mentor in association with initiatives such as the Singapore Book Council's mentorship for emerging writers and translators.
